About Baskets and Swings
Hi there! I’m Anwesha, a high school student and the creator of Baskets and Swings. This platform was born out of love, frustration, and a whole lot of trial-and-error from my family’s journey raising my little brother, who’s autistic.

Our Story
When my brother was diagnosed, we quickly realized how isolating and overwhelming it can feel to navigate a world that isn’t designed for neurodivergent kids. Sleepless nights Googling therapies, decoding IEP meetings, and scrambling to find actual practical advice left my parents exhausted. But along the way, we stumbled on life-changing strategies—not from experts, but from other families who’d walked this path before us.

Baskets and Swings is my way of paying that wisdom forward. No fancy degrees here—just real talk, hard-won lessons, and a space where families like ours can finally breathe.

Fun Fact: The name Baskets and Swings was inspired by my little brother’s infectious love for shaking balls in a basket and playing on swings. It’s a playful nod to his joyful spirit and a reminder that even in challenging times, moments of pure fun and resilience can shine through.

What We Offer

  • Curated Resources: Tools and strategies we’ve personally tested (and ones other parents swear by).

  • No-Judgment Community: Forums to vent, celebrate wins, and ask the questions you’re too embarrassed to say out loud.

  • AI Helper: A chatbot that will help you answer questions like “How do I handle meltdowns in public?” or “Where do I even start with IEP paperwork?”

Our Promise
This isn’t another generic advice site. Every resource is vetted by families who’ve been there. Every feature is shaped by parents, siblings, and caregivers who know the struggle is real—but so is the joy.

Join Us
Whether you’re new to this journey or a seasoned advocate, you belong here. Let’s swap stories, share hacks, and build a village where no family feels alone.

P.S. This is a work in progress, just like all of us. Got ideas? I’m all ears—this is your platform too.

Important Note
Baskets and Swings is a peer-support platform, not a substitute for professional medical, therapeutic, or educational guidance. Always consult qualified healthcare providers, therapists, or educators about your child’s specific needs. We share experiences, not prescriptions—use your best judgment and adapt advice to your unique situation.
